1. No plans "B"
Plan B helps you sleep soundly at night. And when difficult times begin, Plan B will help to drop everything without much loss (and success).
But when you have no options to give up safely, you will work harder, longer, until the very end. If you haven’t laid a straw, you’ll connect all your strength so that you don’t fall. You will be surprised how much you actually have strength.
If a terrible thing happens (and this “terrible” is actually not as scary as it seems), you will always find the strength to return to work. If you do not give up and learn from mistakes, you will achieve your goal.
2. Work
If you try a little, you can succeed a little. If you still try, you can succeed even more. But it is impossible to become better than anyone if you do not invest in your business a colossal, ridiculous amount of hours, attention and effort.
Take any person who is good at his job. It turns out that he spent thousands of hours of life on him. The only way.
There is no shortcut to success. You cannot become super successful in one night. Everyone, probably, heard about the “principle of ten thousand hours”, but few people are ready to follow it ... Except for those who achieve success.
So what's the deal. The clock is ticking.
3. ... and still work
All successful entrepreneurs with whom I personally know work much more than ordinary people. They have a long list of everything that they want to do. They invest in this time.
Interestingly, they want to invest in this time.
Your load will seem overwhelming to others. If you are not ready to take it upon yourself - either you are not so focused on success, or the matter is not so big. One way or another, this is not the path to success.
4. Avoid crowds
If you do, like everyone else, then the result will be, like everyone else. Following the crowd - anyone fashionable and cool as you like - is the key to mediocrity.
Particularly successful people do things that others will not do. They go to areas in which there is no competition and where there are much more opportunities to succeed.
5. Start from the end
Modest success is often the result of modest goals.
Decide what you need, without corrections and compromises: to become the best, fastest, cheapest, largest - no matter which one. Strive for the self-self. Decide where you want to end up. That is your goal.
Now we move from end to beginning, paving the way to the goal, step by step.
When it comes to goals, never start small. Set a big goal, and more successful solutions will come to you. Yes, and you can do more if you do not stop at half measures.
6. ... and do not stop
For successful people, achieving a goal is not the limit. Achieving one big goal is just an excuse to set the next goal, even more.
Say you want to create a company for a hundred million dollars. When you do this, you can arm yourself with your capital and connections to establish a charitable foundation. When you succeed in business and charity, on this basis you can become an opinion leader, speak publicly, write books. And so on.
Achieving outstanding success in one thing, you will develop skills that will make you successful in other areas. Successful people do not stop at the first victory. They continue the path and achieve more and more.
7. Sell
I asked entrepreneurs and directors what skill, in their opinion, most influenced their career success. The answer was one: the ability to sell.
Remember that sales are not cheating, not manipulation, and not pressure. This is the ability to explain the logic and advantages of a solution. To be able to sell means to be able to attract people to cooperation. Sales are the constant overcoming of obstacles.
Sales underlie personal and business success. This is the ability to negotiate, and to work with refusals, and to maintain self-confidence and self-confidence. Sales is a constant communication with a variety of people. This is building a long-lasting relationship.
Those who sacredly believe in themselves, in their idea or their company, manage to sell without selling. This does not require a bloated ego or any outstanding character strength. You need to communicate, and that’s it.
8. Do not be proud
Do not be afraid or embarrassed to admit mistakes. Apologize if wrong. Dreaming for more. Recognize those to whom you owe your success. Laugh at yourself. Ask for help. To fail. And don't give up.
